Meta Platforms reportedly hired Apple senior design executive Alan Dye as part of its move into AI-enabled consumer devices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bloomberg <\/em>reported Dye is being replaced by Stephen Lemay, who lists his title on LinkedIn as UI designer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prior to leaving, Dye was VP of human design at Apple. Dye took over Apple’s user interface design team in 2015 after former designer Jony Ive was named chief design officer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ive left Apple in 2019 before selling his AI-device company to OpenAI<\/a> in May for $6.4 billion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dye worked on projects such as iPhone, iPad, Mac, Watch, TV, Vision Pro, and the recently introduced Liquid Glass<\/a>, according to his LinkedIn profile. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bloomberg<\/em> stated Dye has also been helping Apple develop a range of smart home<\/a> devices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The news agency reported Meta Platforms is building a new studio with Dye in charge of design for hardware, software and AI integration of its interfaces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dye reports to CTO Andrew Bosworth, who leads Meta\u2019s beleaguered Reality Labs<\/a> division which develops wearables such as virtual reality headsets and smart glasses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
