Verizon Business hooked up autonomous trucking company Kodiak AI with its 5G telematics and IoT management portfolio to provide mission-critical communications between vehicles and command centres.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

US-based Kodiak AI offers an autonomous driver-as-a-service capability, using its AI-powered virtual driver for long-haul, industrial, and defence trucking applications. Its system enables continuous, driverless operations, supported by AI.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The company\u2019s assisted autonomy capability is enabled by Verizon partner Vay Technology<\/a>, a provider of automotive-grade remote driving technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Assisted autonomy enables remote human assistance in low-speed or clearly defined situations, with low latency across long distances in remote areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Use cases for the partnership include over-the-air software updates, remote fleet management and remote assistance for Kodiak\u2019s long-haul trucking and industrial operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kodiak AI is using Verizon Business\u2019 5G telematics and its ThingSpace IoT platform<\/a> to manage the massive amount of date generated from its driverless trucks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
